Students are able to participate in a variety of school music groups both on-campus and in area churches. Our Music program integrates a biblical and theological understanding to music bringing God as the focal point. Auditions for the teams occur in September.
Chapel teams – these are student bands that lead chapel worship each week. There are usually three teams for each of the College chapels.
Special Events – there are many special events that take place on campus. Here are some examples to name a few: Awaken Youth Conference,
Sara (Myers), a member of the band playing at our “Awaken” Conference, says, “I'm excited to be a part of this event. It's really cool to be a part of leading youth in praise and worship. I’m thankful for the chance to grow academically and in faith at Heritage, but also explore my interests and grow musically!”
Travelling Ministry Teams
Each year our Ministry Teams travel to churches within Southwestern Ontario.
Ministry Team Options
1) Brief Presentation about Heritage College & Seminary by a Faculty member or the President
2) The Message – We have a number of excellent College or Seminary professors that would be happy to share God’s word with your congregation. Speakers are available to travel with or without a music team.
3) Student-led Music Teams - There are two college-student teams, Heritage Singers & Worship Team, that travel to churches within Southwestern Ontario. Both teams integrate music and testimony.
Music Team Options
Heritage Singers – this is a 20 – 30 voice choir. Students love singing in this team and their enthusiasm and skill definitely shows. This team travels in the winter term.
“Performing at different churches with the choir. I loved that the choir was another way of glorifying God in a service, as well as the free, delicious meal that accompanied those performances.”
- Mami, 4th year Sound Technology & Recording student
Heritage Worship Team- this is a worship and performance team that integrates music, scripture and testimony within their visit. This team travels in the late fall and winter term.
